Abstract Works

My abstract works begin somewhere between intention and discovery. Working across paper, canvas, and wood panel, I create an initial structure through color, form, repetition, and gesture, while leaving room for the materials and process to move in unexpected directions.

Rather than beginning with a fixed narrative, these works often reveal their meaning through making. Forms emerge, relationships develop, and what begins intuitively can open into ideas that feel connected to memory, place, the body, or the natural world. I am interested in this movement between the subconscious and the analytical, and in the moment when something discovered through process begins to take on meaning.

For me, abstraction becomes a space where not everything needs to be understood immediately. The work can remain open long enough for something unexpected to surface.
